Financial Analyst

Location: Butler, PA

Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opening for a Financial Analyst/Accountant at our Butler location. The position is responsible for the overall preparation and analysis of financial records, and for communicating with management and manufacturing personnel for decision-making purposes.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Support the monthly close process, including inventory and cost-related activities
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
• Analyze financial results, identify variances, and assist in root-cause analysis
• Assist in the preparation of plant forecasts and budgets
• Support internal controls and compliance requirements, including SOX
• Assist with internal and external audit requests
• Perform sales/use and other tax-related accounting activities
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting processes (close, reconciliations)
• Analytical ability, detailed orientation, and commitment to accuracy.
• Position is based at Butler Works general office, however may require time in a plant environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Microsoft Excel competence.
• Experience with ERP systems
