Position Summary

Odyssey has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Information Technology Specialist supporting AFLCMC/IN IT supporting DoD agencies, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), HQ USAF, and AFLCMC efforts.

This position is located onsite at Hanscom AFB, MA.



Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

Core IT & Security Support

    Provide daily IT and security support for collateral, SCI, NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and JWICS environments.
  • Deliver JWICS IT security services including information assurance (IA), technical security, network administration, and ISSM/ISSO duties.
  • Execute personnel security, security administration, general administrative support, and document/media control functions.
  • Perform COMSEC duties in accordance with DoD and Air Force requirements.
  • Support operational tests, inspections, and system preparation for mission use.

Network, Systems & Application Support

  • Install, maintain, audit, and support secure Microsoft Windows environments including servers, web services, and data applications.
  • Maintain DoD/AF internet applications and communication protocols (IP, TCP, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, SSL, etc.).
  • Maintain and operate file servers, firewalls, security monitoring systems, network access, and system documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system anomalies to ensure optimum performance.
  • Conduct periodic maintenance, hardware upgrades/replacements, firmware updates, and configuration changes.
  • Perform scheduled system backups; manage backup libraries including onsite and offsite storage.

Customer Support & Collaboration

  • Interface directly with local customers, providing responsive IT support and issue resolution.
  • Attend planning and requirements meetings with IT staff, program managers, analysts, and customers.

Technical Leadership & Knowledge Requirements

  • Provide technical guidance, leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance to AFLCMC/IN team members.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of current and legacy AF operating systems and server hardware/software (e.g., Windows Server 2000/2003/2007, Exchange 2003, Windows 7/XP/Vista).
  • Apply working knowledge of LAN/WAN environments, databackup technologies, and integrated COMSEC.
  • Maintain working knowledge of JAFAN 6/0, DCID/JAFAN 6/3, DCID/JAFAN 6/9, DODIIS/SCI standards, Common Criteria, and C&A security policies.
  • Interpret and apply security policy manuals, DCIDs, JAFANs, and other governing documentation.

Acquisition & Sustainment Support

  • Assist with acquisition and sustainment of IT systems supporting weapon systems and related components.
  • Support acquisition and sustainment of IT equipment/software that ensures accessibility for hearing or sightimpaired users.
  • Support security accreditation processes, NetCentric Operations, Warfare Reference Models, ISP preparation, ClingerCohen reporting, and other certification requirements (e.g., Network Readiness Assessment).
  • Support operation of IT systems enabling standardized file structures and seamless file sharing for SIO, SSO, and directorate leadership.
  • Provide expertise in developing system security management plans, Program Protection Plans (PPPs), risk analyses, OPSEC plans, C&A documentation, vulnerability analyses, security CONOPS, and other security artifacts aligned with MILHDBK1785 and DODI 5000.02.


Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Clearance: Active Top Secret Clearance

Education/Experience:

  • Master's or Doctorate degree in a related field and 10 years of related experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, 5 years of which must be in the DoD; OR Bachelor's degree in a related field and 12 years of related experience, 5 of which must be in the DoD; OR, 15 years of directly related experience, 8 of which must be in the DoD.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and travel within the designated organizational area.

Certification Requirements:

  • Must meet DoD 8570.01M IA Technician Level II certification requirements within six months of hire.

Technical Skills

  • Network Administration - Managing LAN/WAN environments, firewalls, servers, and network access.
  • System Security & IA - Applying cybersecurity controls, COMSEC, accreditation standards, and security policies.
  • Operating System Administration - Supporting Microsoft Windows Server and Windows OS environments.
  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostics - Analyzing and resolving hardware, software, and system anomalies.
