Bench Technician / Hardware Configuration Technician Overview We are seeking an entry-level Bench Technician to support hardware configuration and asset preparation in a lab or staging environment. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on technical experience and a basic understanding of networking fundamentals who are looking to start a career in IT. You will be responsible for preparing equipment, wiping hard drives, and supporting hardware setup and basic connectivity within a controlled environment. Key Responsibilities * Wipe and reimage hard drives to prepare equipment for reuse * Configure and set up desktop and laptop hardware * Perform hardware installations, upgrades, and component swaps * Perform basic hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting * Verify network connectivity (TCP/IP, wired and wireless) * Maintain accurate inventory tracking and documentation * Follow standard processes for hardware preparation and configuration Required Skills * Hardware installation and configuration * Basic computer hardware knowledge * Basic understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, IP addressing) * Familiarity with Windows 11 Additional Skills * Understanding of network connectivity (switches, patching, wireless basics) * CompTIA Network+ (nice to have) * Electronics or technical background * Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of North Haven, CT. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
