Genesis10 is looking for a Critical Facilities Refrigeration Field Service Engineer for a full time position with our client in the Boston, MA area.

Compensation: $90,000 - $115,000/year

** traveling role within the Boston area. Company vehicle and tools are provided.

Our client services a variety of clients in the life sciences and other industries, including those in pharmaceuticals, biotech, medical devices, and genomics, as well as contract research organizations (CROs) and contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs).
Their comprehensive range of services includes laboratory consulting, real estate services, instrumentation repair and maintenance, full asset management, and more covering the entire spectrum of life sciences facilities.

This job is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments.

About the role:
The Refrigeration Field Service Engineer, under direct and indirect supervision, supports the operations of the Service Department both in the field and occasionally in the shop, in service, repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance of refrigerated (and some non-refrigerated) scientific equipment including freezers, refrigerators, lyophilizes, vacuum pumps, and other types of equipment.

Assists with customer service needs and work order management. Directly reports to the Area Service Supervisor. Works closely with fellow technicians, Administrative Staff, and Project Managers.

This role will be traveling and providing services to different facilities around the bay area. A company vehicle will be provided.

What you'll do:
Field Responsibilities:
  • Required to perform repairs, preventative maintenance, installations, and shop infrastructure work as needed.
  • Assist other technicians and staff as needed. Work may include pick-up and delivery of equipment, field service, shop service/repairs, calibration, and preventative maintenance of refrigerated (and some non-refrigerated) scientific equipment including freezers, refrigerators, lyophilizes, vacuum pumps, and other types of equipment.
  • Provide support for servicing customers' specialty equipment in shop.
  • May be required to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and "on-call" as needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • 5 years' experience in scientific or specialized refrigeration, sterilization and HVAC
  • EPA Universal CFC/608 Certification
  • Extensive experience with refrigeration, chillers and coolers
  • Electrical and controls experience
  • Experience calibrating incubators is highly preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and internet functions is required; accounting and construction software packages preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively to customers, vendors and managers via phone and in person
