This position is a contract/limited position with the possibility of extension/career conversion. The UCSD Prosocial Skills Program (PROS) is a collaboration between the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science and the UC San Diego Health Level I Trauma Center - Injury Prevention Program and San Diego Unified School District and other community organizations. The UCSD Prosocial Skills Program (PROS) is a multipronged prevention and intervention program addressing key drivers of gun violence in the San Diego community. UCSD PROS boosts economic stability of at-risk community members via service navigation, career coaching, interpersonal skill building, and tattoo removal. The current expansion of UCSD PROS includes a new hospital-based violence intervention and prevention (HVIP) program at UC San Diego Health's Level 1 Trauma Center in Hillcrest and a school-based resilience program to build protective factors among San Diego Unified at-risk middle and high school youth and their families. The Violence Prevention Services Navigator will provide long-term (6+ months) patient-centered and trauma-informed service navigation and social drivers of health case management to eligible trauma patients, and/or their family members, admitted due to violent injury, especially gunshot and other penetrative injuries. This role aims to stabilize and improve violent injury patients' outcomes, mitigate social and economic drivers of gun violence, and promote protective factors and patient self-efficacy. The Violence Prevention Services Navigator works collaboratively with other UCSD PROS staff (e.g., Service Navigator, Peer Support Specialist, Career Coach) to provide or connect enrolled patients with appropriate PROS services and additional needed community resources (e.g. housing, education, crime victim's compensation, public assistance, etc.). In collaboration with other hospital-based PROS team members, the Violence Prevention Services Navigator will deliver off-site prevention services at San Diego Unified School District locations - facilitating evidence-based resilience curriculum for healthy coping skills to protect against trauma and violence, and connecting parents/guardians of enrolled youth to UCSD PROS Core Services as needed. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $60,072 - $79,073 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $28.77 - $37.87 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). | |
