Environmental Engineer I

This position will play a critical role in ensuring our operations maintain high environmental standards, meet regulatory requirements, and strive for sustainable operational practices across the company while maintaining and validating air permitting and compliance programs. This position requires a strong foundation in environmental engineering principles, with a focus on mitigating environmental risks, improving compliance, and developing strategies to reach environmental performance goals. The role will be responsible for evaluating the environmental performance of facilities and providing actionable solutions to enhance our sustainability and compliance efforts.

  • Prepare, submit, and maintain air permit applications, renewal, and modifications
  • Perform PTE calculations, mass balance analyses, and other engineering analyses to support air permit applications and compliance demonstrations
  • Review and validate technical data provided by stakeholders and gathered from EOG information systems for use in permitting submittals and information requests
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies on technical questions related to permitting calculations and methodology
  • Evaluate emission estimation methodologies and utilize strong engineering fundamentals to quantify emissions where appropriate
  • Perform emissions analyses to identify and enable cost-savings measures for environmental compliance
  • Build and validate process models for use in air permitting calculations utilizing emission modeling software (ProMax, HYSYS, Tanks, etc)


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field is required
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) designation or eligibility for licensure is preferred
  • 0-3 years of experience in environmental engineering within the oil and gas industry
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, emissions reduction strategies, and compliance frameworks specific to the energy sector
  • Strong foundation in mass/energy balances, thermodynamics, and process fundamentals
  • Ability to independently perform and validate quantitative engineering calculations
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and environmental monitoring software
Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
