Product Manager, Applied SI, Megapack

Tesla Motors, Inc.

paid holidays, flex time, 401(k)
United States, California, Palo Alto

What to Expect
The SI Product Analyst, Megapack Operations will own the building, maintenance, and adoption of SI-powered tools and agents that support Tesla's Megapack business. This role sits at the intersection of product thinking, hands-on SI tool development, and operational domain knowledge. You will build and maintain RAG-based agents, support a shipped desktop SI platform (600+ users), curate a shared skills repository, and drive enablement programs that help non-technical teams use SI effectively in their daily work.

This is not a traditional analyst role. You will spend the majority of your time building and shipping SI products, not writing reports. A great SI Product Analyst is someone who can investigate why an agent gave a wrong answer in the morning, ship a fix by lunch, write the documentation in the afternoon, and present adoption metrics to leadership by end of day.

As a key member of the Megapack Operations team, you will work closely with the SI product lead, software engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Legal, Service, and Deployment. You should be comfortable with ambiguity, energized by building tools that make other people's jobs easier, and willing to wear many hats in a fast-moving environment.

What You'll Do
  • Run stakeholder discovery across Megapack: sit with account managers, sales leaders, program managers, and ops analysts to understand their workflows, identify pain points, and scope what to build
  • Build and ship production AI tools (Python, AI skills, RAG agents, and platform integrations) that real users depend on daily, not prototypes that live on localhost
  • Own the product lifecycle for each tool you ship: define the problem, build the solution, deploy it, collect feedback, and iterate, partnering with the product lead on prioritization and roadmap
  • Build integrations across enterprise systems (CRM, quoting, contracts, manufacturing, and service platforms) to create unified agentic workflows where manual handoffs exist today
  • Extract patterns and scale them: when you solve the same problem for three teams, build the general version and turn one-off fixes into reusable primitives and shared platform infrastructure
  • Communicate product outcomes, adoption metrics, and user insights through clear updates and cross-functional briefings to engineering teams and operations leadership
  • Run discovery to surface new use cases from the field, validate concepts quickly, and convert the strongest ideas into roadmap commitments

What You'll Bring
  • 2-5 years of experience in product management, software engineering, solutions engineering, or a forward deployment role. You've shipped software that real people use in production
  • Python proficiency: you write production code, build integrations, and debug data pipelines
  • Direct experience conducting user research and stakeholder discovery with non-technical users: you've run the conversation, scoped the problem, and come back with a working plan
  • Clear and concise verbal communication: you can present your work to a Director, explain a technical tradeoff to a sales leader, and write a practical how-to guide for an ops analyst
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple enterprise systems and data sources, handling data quality challenges, integration constraints, and ambiguity with a self-starter mentality
  • Founder mindset: you've owned a problem end-to-end (identified it, scoped it, built the solution, got people using it) without someone handing you a ticket or defining requirements
  • Experience building or deploying AI-powered tools (RAG agents, LLM integrations, automation skills) in a production environment, with hands-on experience with Claude, MCP, LangChain, or similar AI platforms
