Job Overview
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, modifications, and installation of industrial electrical and electronically controlled equipment in support of facility operations.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial electrical and electronically controlled systems.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PLC-driven systems and low voltage electrical systems.
- Maintain and repair motor controllers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), UPS systems, fire alarm and suppression systems, elevators, cranes, hoists, and related equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Install, configure, and maintain switchboards, motor control centers (MCCs), panel boards, and transformers.
- Perform industrial and commercial electrical work including threading, bending, and installing rigid conduit, EMT, flexible conduit, and PVC conduit up to 6".
- Use testing and diagnostic equipment including multimeters, megohm meters, and phase rotation meters.
- Work with engineering personnel to support equipment modifications and system improvements.
- Coordinate material requirements and maintain equipment and maintenance records.
- Safely operate articulating lifts and scissor lifts.
- Maintain compliance with NEC standards, safety requirements, and company procedures.
- Maintain good housekeeping and safe work practices.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years of industrial electrical experience.
- Completion of a 4-year electrical apprenticeship program; OR Completion of a 2-year electrical apprenticeship program plus 2 additional years of industrial electrical experience; OR Completion of an electronics vocational program, military electronics school, or electronics apprenticeship program plus 5 years of directly related electronics experience.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial electrical controls and automated systems.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical instructions.
- Working knowledge of NEC standards and regulations.
- Must be certified in accordance with SSC standards.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain the required NASA badge.
- Ability to successfully complete all required employment verification and badging documentation processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting government or industrial facilities environments.
- Experience with PLC systems, VFDs, fire alarm systems, elevators, cranes, or lifting systems.
- Experience with CMMS or computerized maintenance systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Working Conditions:
- Work involves standing, walking, climbing, and performing detailed physical work in industrial environments.
- Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions and equipment.
- Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Frequently bend, stoop, push, pull, climb ladders, and work overhead.
- Ablity to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs frequently.
- Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods, including steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hard hats, and gloves.
- Ability to tolerate extreme heat and cold for extended periods.
