The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development is a state agency established to promote workforce development and improve workplace safety and health throughout the state.

How you make a difference in this role:

Director of Oversight and Training of Learning Management System will demonstrate experience in compliance and auditing to lead compliance, monitoring, policy implementation, training development, and program performance improvement efforts. This role ensures adherence to federal and state regulations, supports ongoing operational improvement, and fosters alignment across workforce programs through strategic oversight and collaboration. The perfect candidate will demonstrate strong understanding of workforce development, strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Job Overview:

The Director of Oversight and Training provides Monitoring and Compliance Oversight, Technical Assistance and Performance Improvement, Workforce Services and Performance Review Oversight, Federal Policy and Compliance Response, (LMS) Oversight, Complaint Resolution System Management, Cross-Functional Collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provides leadership and oversight of monitoring activities to ensure the division complies with all applicable federal and state regulations.

2. Oversees the development and delivery of technical assistance initiatives to improve program effectiveness and support ongoing improvement.

3. Oversees the review, resolution, and management of findings from workforce and performance assessments.

4. Leads the organization's responses to federal guidance, findings, and policy directives to ensure compliance and alignment.

5. Oversees the Learning Management System to support workforce development and training initiatives at both strategic and operational levels.

6. Oversees the administration and effectiveness of the complaint resolution process to ensure outcomes are timely, fair, and compliant.

7. Promotes coordination and collaboration among organizational units to improve service delivery and program outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelors degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field

2. Experience in program oversight, compliance, or workforce development

3. Experience managing projects, programs, or teams
