The Structural Engineer will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the construction of structures to ensure they are safe, sustainable, and cost-effective. This includes buildings, bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure. The Structural Engineer will collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to deliver high-quality projects.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Analysis:
- Perform calculations to ensure structures can withstand various loads and forcesand stampourown drawings
- Analyze building materials for strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Work with design engineers toproducestandard designs
- Project Management:
- Be the single point of contactfor alldesign engineerssending work out to multiplestructural consultants.
- Manage theworkloadtostructural consultants with quickest turnaround in mind
- Participate inmeetings with structural consultants to ensure that theyhave all necessary inputs and produce ahigh-qualitystamped drawing
- Manage project timelines and budgetsrelativeto structural analysis
- Supportquestions coming from construction site related to structural analysis
3.Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all designs adhere to local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
4.Problem Solving:
- Identifyand resolve design and construction issues.
- Providetechnical advice and support during construction phases.
5.Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and present reports, proposals, and other documentation.
- Maintainaccuraterecords of design changes and project progress
- Coaching new engineers in making cost effective and easy to manufacture designs
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Education:Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, orrelatedfield.Master'sdegree is a plus.
- Experience:5+ years of experience in structural engineering orrelatedfield.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license
Skills:
- Proficiencyinstructural analysissoftware and other engineering design tools.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communicationand teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail andhigh levelof accuracy in work.
Abilities:
- Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
