POSITION SUMMARY: This position plays a critical role in hospital safety and cleans the facilities to hospital standards. Assists in the prevention of communicable disease with heavy cleaning throughout the hospital, maintains loading docks and apartments on-campus. In addition, the environmental service technician II works to clean, wax, extract, and maintain floors, carpeting, and stairwells. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Keeps hospital environment fully sanitary, secure and comfortable for patients and staff to prevent transmission of infection 2. Maintains loading dock duties to include cardboard /trash compactors 3. Setups and removes bins and soiled linens from basement chute rooms as well as needle boxes, cardboard boxes and chemo therapeutic waste to ensure a sanitary environment 4. Performs cleaning and floor refinishing functions following established protocols to achieve quality standards and facility objectives; operates a variety of floor care equipment and other necessary tools, products and supplies; gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials 5. Knowledge of regulatory/safety requirements related to all assigned work 6. Is aware of and notates when hospital equipment is not functioning properly to ensure quality standards and facility objectives 7. Displays courteous and professional behavior towards patients, physicians, visitors, volunteers and other employees to promote positivity in the work environment 8. Follows regulatory guidelines of waste processes 9. May work and mentor Project Search students to provide on the job training and career skills QUALIFICATIONS: * High School diploma/GED preferred * 1.5 years of housekeeping and/or floor tech experience * Ability to read, write and understand the English language * Waste DOT Certification required or obtained within six months * Knowledge of waste stream processes and/or knowledge of floor care maintenance processes Salary Range: Minimum 16.25/hour - Maximum 25.99/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
