Overview

SSOE is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Industrial Facilities Design team. This exciting role will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale industrial and advanced manufacturing facilities for global industry leaders. From concept through startup, you will direct multidisciplinary architecture and engineering teams responsible for creating high-tech, mission-critical, and power-intensive facilities that drive innovation and economic growth.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership for multidisciplinary project teams from planning through completion.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and strategic stakeholders.
  • Develop project execution plans, resource strategies, and delivery approaches.
  • Align scope, budget, schedule, quality, and risk management objectives.
  • Facilitate change management and commercial negotiations.
  • Monitor financial performance, invoicing, forecasting, and cash flow.
  • Manage contracts for consultants and external service providers.
  • Drive communication, accountability, and collaboration among stakeholders.
  • Mentor project managers and support project delivery excellence.
  • Support business development, pursuits, presentations, qualifications, and fee proposals.
  • Travel as necessary for client and project engagement.

Qualifications

Qualifications You'll Need on Day One:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering discipline, Construction Management, or Architecture, or additional 4 (four) years of experience in the engineering or construction field in lieu of a technical degree. Registration preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in the design industry preferred, with 5+ years as a Project Manager in an engineering or construction organization.
  • Managing the design of major capital industrial projects within an engineering or architecture consulting firm is required.
  • Experience in automotive plants projects is highly desired.
  • Strong experience in industrial/manufacturing plants projects.
  • Advanced working knowledge of contract management, pre-design, pre-construction, renovations, demolition, new construction, building systems/components, technology, and construction administration.
  • Experience with various disciplines, trades, and systems related to complex industrial facilities, with an emphasis on full project delivery.
  • Experience in the execution of multi-office projects with remote teams.
  • Strong capabilities with building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in client-facing roles and business development.
  • Ability to travel to project locations for short-term visits to client sites.
  • Valid driver's license and passport for potential project-related international travel.
