The Interventional Radiologic Technologist CLis a specialized radiologic technologist who helps physicians with minimally invasive procedures that guide instruments through a patient's blood vessels and organs. Working under direct supervision, this job performs procedures such as angioplasties, biopsies, image-guided thermal ablations, and stentings. This job sets up sterile equipment trays, positions patients correctly for interventional radiologic procedures, helps operate fluoroscopic equipment, and helps capture images.

Essential Job Function:

  • Performs minimally invasive exams consistent with established protocols to minimize additional imaging and limit radiation dose to as low as reasonably achievable.
  • Operates and maintains specialized interventional radiology equipment, adhering to safety protocols and performing regular maintenance checks to ensure accurate and reliable imaging during procedures.
  • Assists radiologists and other medical staff during interventional procedures, providing real-time imaging support to aid in accurate placement of devices and therapeutic interventions.
  • Completes all exams and documentation in Computerized Health Information (CHL) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), accurately identifying all charges associated with studies and addressing errors for a seamless workflow.
  • Assists with patient transport as necessary to ensure the smooth flow of patient care and support during procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Graduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program.

Experience:

    Licensure/Certification/Listing:

    • Required: ARRT (R) Radiologic Technologist - Dx and/or RCIS Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare.
