Summary

A CNC programmer specializing in ESPRIT and ESPRIT EDGE to create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for complex 3, 4, 5, and 7-axis mills, lathes, and multi-axis equipment. Collaborate with engineering and production teams, ensuring every job is manufactured to maximum efficiency and superior quality. Must be familiar with the latest machines, tooling, and cutting tool technology.



Job Duties and Responsibilities

Other tasks and duties may be required as directed.



  • Program Development

    • Create and maintain organized CNC programs.
    • Generate precise tool paths for complex geometries across varied machine platforms (up to 7 axes).
    • Update code according to print revision and manage version control.


  • Job layout & Tooling

    • Design custom work holding fixtures.
    • Select optimal machining strategies, cutting tools, and sequences to minimize setup times and maximize throughput.
    • Work with vendors and preorder special tools and equipment.


  • Process Optimization

    • Maximize efficiency through semi-autonomous machining techniques.
    • Optimize cycle time and tool life.
    • Fine-tune feeds and speeds to balance aggressive cycle times with extended tool life and high-quality finishes.
    • Create and provide setup sheets/manufacturing aids for the shop floor.


  • Technical Support

    • Stay current on the latest machine and tooling technologies; collaborate with engineering to resolve manufacturing challenges.
    • Collaborate with machinists to dial in feeds and speeds.
    • Troubleshoot new program proof-of-concept, and mentor employees.


  • Quality & Compliance

    • Utilize Net-Inspect for data entry.
    • Ensure all processes align with AS9100 standards and company policies.





Qualification Requirements

  • Education/Experience

    • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
    • Preferred: An associate degree or certificate in programming or on-the-job training
    • 7+ years related experience and/or training in aerospace or high-precision medical manufacturing
    • 7+ years of related experience and/or training in multi-axis programming using ESPRIT or MasterCAM for Swiss-style lathes, mill-turns, and multi-turret centers


  • Language Skills

    • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
    • Ability to write in simple correspondence.


  • Math Skills

    • Proficient in the use of shop mathematics (geometry/trigonometry).
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


  • Computer/ Office Skills


    • Basic windows/internet browser
    • Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Power Point
    • Typing
    • 10-key
    • Blueprint Reading
    • Proficiency in Blueprint reading, including GD&T.
    • Proficiency in reading Engineering specs and procedures.
    • Proficient in Esprit and/or MasterCAM software.





Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Physical Demands

    • Frequent Activities: Sitting, typing, handling objects,, talking/hearing

    • Occasional activities: Standing, walking, reaching, lifting/pushing/pulling up to 25 lbs



    • Rare activities: Climbing/balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting/pushing/pulling heavy weights (50-100+ lbs)




  • Vision Requirements


    • Frequent: Close vision and computer work



    • Occasional: Ability to adjust focus and color vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision




  • Work Environment


    • Occasional exposure: Mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, and very quiet to loud noise.

    • Rare exposure: High places, outdoor weather, electrical shock, and vibrations.

Compensation and Benefits Offered

Actual base salary offered to the selected applicant will be based on their work location, qualifications, job related skills, relevant education, and training experience.

Base Salary range Minimum $90,000 - Maximum $110,000 Depending on experience
