Title: Accessioner I
Location: 1 Forest Parkway, Shelton, CT Duration: 3 months Shift: 4am to 12:30 pm Tuesday-Saturday Summary: * Accession incoming specimens and route specimens to the appropriate laboratory or send them out to the appropriate satellite facility. * Prepare specimens for the laboratory prior to laboratory processing/testing, including sorting and labeling specimens and accompanying paperwork. * Data enter specimen, patient, and client information from specimen requisitions into the laboratory database. * Identify, alert, and hold specimens with incomplete processing information until resolved. * Verify requisitions are entered correctly into the database. * Scan, copy, and file specimen paperwork. * Perform other duties such as preparing labels and forms for the accessioning process. * This job description reflects only the essential functions of the position and excludes those which may be incidental to the performance of the job.
