The Department of Physics and Astronomy at West Virginia University invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position focused on the design, development, and characterization of atmospheric pressure plasma sources. The successful candidate will join an experimental plasma physics research program centered on the development of novel plasma sources and diagnostics for applications in areas such as plasma medicine, plasma-material interactions, and related low-temperature plasma science. This position is ideal for a motivated researcher with substantial hands-on experience in atmospheric pressure plasma source design and operation, a strong experimental background, and the ability to contribute both independently and collaboratively within an active research environment. Responsibilities Experimental design, plasma source development, and operation
Plasma diagnostics and data acquisition
Data analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of results
Support of laser spectroscopic diagnostics
Student mentoring and collaborative research support
General laboratory operations, equipment maintenance, and safety
