Overview
The SR400 Express Lanes Project is a transformative $4.6 billion infrastructure initiative led by SR400 Constructors, a 50/50 joint venture between Flatiron Dragados and ACCIONA. Commissioned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Georgia State Road Tollway Authority (SRTA), the project will add two 16-mile express lanes from Sandy Springs MARTA Station (Exit 5) to McFarland (Exit 12), enhancing mobility along one of Georgia's busiest corridors. With a peak workforce of over 500, the project also includes dedicated bus rapid transit stations and key bridge refurbishments. Construction is set to begin in late 2025, with substantial completion anticipated in 2031. A MOT Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all MOT operations on our $4.6B roadway project. Leads planning, coordination, and execution of traffic control strategies to ensure safety, minimize disruption, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. Serves as a key liaison between construction teams, designers, stakeholders, and public agencies, ensuring seamless integration of MOT plans with overall project delivery.
What you will be doing
Oversee the full scope of MOT work, from planning and design review through implementation and closeout
- Manage and lead a team MOT staff, including coordinators, superintenednts, inspectors, and field personnel
- Develop, review, and approve traffic control plans, phasing strategies, and detour routes
- Coordinate with construction managers, subcontractors, and public agencies to align MOT activities with project schedules
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal traffic control standards and safety regulations
- Monitor field operations to verify proper installation and maintenance of traffic control devices
- Identify and mitigate risks related to traffic flow, safety, and public impact
- Manage MOT budgets, track costs, and support change order evaluations
- Communicate with stakeholders and the public regarding traffic impacts, closures, and updates
- Analyze traffic data and adjust strategies to improve efficiency and minimize congestion
- Provides technical insight to project pursuits and participates in bid interviews, as necessary. Assesses the initial project contract and works with the owner to resolve specification, contract conflicts, and scheduling issues.
- Engages with all project stakeholders proactively, including managing partners, joint venture Executive Board, federal authorities such as Senators, Mayors, or Commissioners, local landowners, business owners, and regulatory bodies that will have influence over project success.
- Coordinates with the construction management team to identify project risks and negotiate change orders with the owner to ensure efficient and effective project production.
- Oversees project and construction management to accurately update the project construction schedule and adjust for any change orders from the Owner.
- Presents monthly project reports to Executive Leadership.
- Supports and promotes project safety by ensuring compliance with the project safety program, safety procedures, and owner safety policies. Reviews weekly safety reports and participates in monthly safety review meetings with project personnel.
- Directs construction management decisions regarding staff and equipment needs, ensuring cost containment with subcontractors and equipment billing.
- Resolves disputes with the project owner in a timely and compliant manner. Engages Company legal counsel and Executive leadership, where necessary.
- Provides input on equipment procurement methods and contracts to ensure efficient and effective project production.
- Leads project closeout procedures, finalizing contract paperwork, obtaining retainages, and working with management to resolve any project claims. Leads project debrief cycles to review all aspects of project work and completion.
What we are looking for
- 15+ years' experience in construction project management required.
- 10+ years' experience in managing personnel required.
- Experience working on Joint Venture (JV) construction projects required.
- Proven experience in bid-build, CMCG, design build and other alternative delivery projects required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field a plus.
- Valid Driver's License
- Strong interpersonal skills proven to engage and retain positive working relationships.
- Strong proven skill to identify, track and manage project risk.
- Proven ability to efficiently and effectively manage multiple departments and direct reports to retain focus on one project completion goal and timeline.
- Proven ability to identify growth opportunities for project personnel and developed to coach and mentor project personnel.
- Proven ability to delegate task driven responsibilities to project personnel.
- Proven knowledge and ability to analyze and interpret financial documentation to identify and mitigate project risk.
- Effective delegation skills to drive efficient, accurate and profitable project completion.
- Strong internal branding and sales knowledge to constantly promote yourself and the Company brand.
