CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Coaching & Instruction

  • Lead group exercise classes, small group training sessions, and/or personal training sessions using formats designed to improve overall fitness, strength, endurance, and mobility
  • Confidently coach participants of varying fitness levels while providing appropriate modifications
  • Demonstrate proper exercise technique, queueing, tempo, choreography, and safe transitions
  • Create motivating, music-driven workouts that enhance participation and engagement
  • Lead by example, modeling positive energy, professionalism, and healthy habits

Safety & Member Experience

  • Ensure all workouts are conducted safely and responsibly, prioritizing participant well-being
  • Monitor members for proper form and provide corrections as needed
  • Maintain current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and encouraging atmosphere for all participants

Engagement, Promotion & Retention

  • Actively engage members before, during, and after sessions to build relationships and accountability
  • Promote corporate wellness programs, fitness offerings, special events, and challenges
  • Support member retention by creating consistent, high-quality experiences
  • Communicate clearly and positively with members, guests, and colleagues

Facility & Operations

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the fitness center, including workout areas, equipment, and common spaces. Assist with facility laundry throughout shift.
  • Set up and break down equipment before and after sessions
  • Operate and troubleshoot audio/visual equipment
  • Follow all corporate fitness center policies, procedures, and brand standards
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and check-ins
  • Open and close the fitness center as needed/scheduled. Hours range from 5:30am-7:00pm Monday through Friday.

Team & Culture

  • Collaborate effectively with fellow fitness center staff
  • Be open to coaching, feedback, and continuous learning
  • Contribute positively to a team-oriented, service-focused workplace culture

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • Current Group Fitness Certification from an accredited organization (ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM, NSCA, Spinning, YogaFit, Zumba, Les Mills/Mossa, or similar)
  • Personal Training certification or equivalent college courses
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required
  • Ability to coach:
  • Small group training (up to 8 participants)
  • Large group classes (up to 20-25 participants)
  • One-on-one personal training (as applicable)

Preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading group fitness and/or training sessions preferred
  • Strong understanding of exercise physiology, kinesiology, anatomy, and basic nutrition
  • Knowledge of safe exercise techniques and group fitness principles
  • Ability to cue effectively using clear verbal, visual, and rhythmic instruction
  • Comfortable leading and motivating large groups
  • Ability to adapt workouts for participants with varying abilities and needs
