As a Therapeutic Activities Specialist within our Adult Day Program in Swedesboro, NJ you'll empower the people we serve while supporting the Bancroft mission, vision and core values. Direct Support Professionals help those in our care to reach their highest potential, while gaining experience and learning new skills. The current hiring range for this position is: $22.64-$23.10 per hour. Plus additional incentives. Bancroft is a leading service-provider for children and adults with autism, other intellectual or developmental disabilities or those in need of neurological rehabilitation. We are looking for Direct Support Professionals that are passionate about providing quality care in a positive and empathetic manner. Our Direct Support Professionals must have a strong desire to work with autistic, intellectually and/or developmentally disabled individuals. Responsibilities Designs and provides direct and consultative day services to persons served:
Develops structured, meaningful, and enriching activities to teach life skills and promote the personal development of each individual. Plans and conducts individual and group sessions to further enhance skills.
Contributes in facilitating a team approach to program development, implementation, and monitoring by effectively collaborating with all specialty/clinical disciplines, parents/guardians, residential and day program staff, etc., to identify and best meet the individual needs of each person we support. Develops and implements structured day services in collaboration with the Trans-disciplinary team (IDT), and in accordance with the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), the Individual Program Plan (IPP), Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA), and established Bancroft policies and procedures. Provides ongoing support, guidance and mentoring for staff in implementing treatment plans, general interactions, engagement, daily care, goal implementation, level of support and safety for assigned individuals. Qualifications High School Diploma and 6 months related experience required. Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field preferred. Prior experience working individuals who have been diagnosed with a developmental disability/autism preferred.
