Mechanical Engineering Intern

Hourly rate: $22.00 -$24.00/ hr. + overtime

Summary:

Reporting to the Product Manager, the Mechanical Engineering Intern will support mechanical and/or electrical engineering activities, including drafting and maintaining technical drawings, performing engineering calculations, generating as-built documentation, assisting in product design, performing bench testing, and providing engineering support during prototype and first article build activities.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Revise and maintain engineering drawings, including revising legacy title blocks and formatting to current PSI engineering standards.
• Work with engineering team members to update drawings for shipped units and generate as-built revisions in accordance with engineering change processes.
• Develop new assembly drawings and documentation based on engineering markups and design revisions.
• Support manufacturing and production teams by answering engineering-related questions and assisting with interpretation of engineering documentation.

Required Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Basic proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent engineering design tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional engineering team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with engineering drawings, assemblies, or technical documentation
• Familiarity with manufacturing or product development environments.
• Interest in power generation, industrial equipment, or energy systems.
