We are looking for experienced Sheet Metal Superintendent for our shop in Milwaukee, WI. The Sheet Metal Superintendent is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the daily activities of the fabrication shop and production crews. The Superintendent will be responsible for fabricating and installing sheet metal products and systems with the highest degree of quality, in the safest and most cost effective manner. This is a Union position represented by SMART 18 . Job Functions: Provide training, leadership and direction to the fabrication shop employees and multiple installation crews. Train employees on safety procedures and safety equipment. Complete timely performance reviews on all sheet metal employees. Maximize productivity while maintaining job costs, installation quality and employee safety. Ensure the proper utilization of materials and equipment. Recruit, mentor and retain a dependable and knowledgeable sheet metal workforce. Ensure quality practices for the department. Educate employees on sheet metal best practices, terminology, materials and equipment. Plan, administrate, and participate as an instructor in Company sponsored education programs for the workforce. Promote proper work ethic and enforce the Company's policies, procedures and practices. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential): High School Diploma or equivalent. 8-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient knowledge of PC software applications including Word and Excel. Possesses a working knowledge in blue print reading and specifications. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Occasional travel and out of town work is required. Available to work for extended hours when necessary. Must not be afraid of heights. Extensive knowledge with multiple types of sheet metal products and systems.
