POSITION PURPOSE:

The CADD/BIM Manager serves as the firm's handson technical lead responsible for stabilizing production, fixing coordination breakdowns, and enforcing consistent CADD and BIM execution across all disciplines. This role holds direct authority over CADD/BIM standards and production workflows and works closely with Project Managers and engineers to ensure clear handoffs, constructible models, and schedulealigned deliverables. The CADD/BIM Manager is a working manager, actively involved in daytoday modeling, coordination, and problem resolution while establishing durable processes that prevent rework and latestage corrections.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provide firmwide leadership for CADD (AutoCAD) and BIM (Revit) standards, workflows, and production execution across architectural, civil, geotechnical, environmental, structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection disciplines, with authority to establish, enforce, and update standards as required to support project delivery.
  • Serve as a handson CADD/BIM working manager, actively performing modeling, setup, coordination, and problem resolution while supervising assigned CADD/BIM personnel.
  • Directly supervise CADD/BIM technicians assigned to LBYD Federal projects, including task assignment, prioritization, technical guidance, and quality control.
  • Partner with Project Managers, Architects, and Engineers to provide coordinated CADD/BIM support, while exercising authority to define production workflows, enforce standards, and remedy incomplete, unclear, or nonconstructible inputs that would negatively affect quality, coordination, or schedule.
  • Maintain proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit BIM, and Microsoft Office / 365 Programs:
  • Create and maintain Revit families and Revit templates across all disciplines, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and adherence to company BIM standards.
  • Create and maintain CADD / BIM models, backgrounds, title blocks, and base sheet configuration on all projects.
  • Develop, review, and maintain 3D models and 2D construction documentation in support of design development and construction deliverables. Develop products from design concepts or mark-ups provided by engineering or project management staff.
  • Establish and manage BIM files, model versioning, worksets, naming conventions, and file structures in accordance with company and client data management requirements.
  • Coordinate and align architectural, structural, MEP, and civil models to ensure consistency, accuracy, and clash-free documentation.
  • Maintain working knowledge of office furniture, wall types, light fixtures, warehouse, and industrial equipment.
  • Perform quality control reviews of models and drawings to verify compliance with company standards, client requirements, and applicable codes. Coordinate with Project Managers and discipline leads to ensure all project drawings are properly produced, named, indexed, stored, and qualitychecked prior to release.
  • Integrate construction submittals, manufacturers' data and as-built information into BIM models where required to provide facility asset management capabilities.
  • Extract quantities of material and production from the model.
  • Review construction submittals and prepare as-built record drawings upon completion of construction.
  • Train staff in the effective use of Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM collaboration platforms.
  • Develop and maintain BIM Project Execution Plans (PxP) where required as a client deliverable to support efficient project delivery and long-term digital asset value.
  • Perform annual review of the United States National CAD Standard (NCS), published by the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS), and the A/E/C ComputerAided Design (CAD) Standard (ERDC/USACE Release 6.2), including all applicable DoDspecific requirements. Update LBYD Federal standard STD-9100 as needed to maintain alignment with current industry standards.
  • Monitor industry trends, software developments, and artificial intelligence capabilities and recommend improvements to CADD/BIM tools, workflows, and standards.
  • Establish and maintain CADD/BIM software budget requirements license allocation, and expiration dates.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:


  • 8+ years of experience in CADD/BIM production for architectengineer projects.
  • Associate degree (A.A., A.S., or A.A.S.) in Drafting/ Technology, Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, BIM, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in stabilizing production and correcting coordination issues between PMs, engineers, and CADD/BIM staff.
  • Direct experience owning or enforcing CADD/BIM standards, templates, libraries, and QC workflows across multiple disciplines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D strongly preferred.
  • Experience applying National CADD Standard (NCS) and Federal CADD/BIM standards (e.g., USACE / DoD or equivalent).

Skills and Abilities:


  • Ability to identify and correct breakdowns in PM/engineertoproduction workflows, including incomplete markups, late design changes, and nonstandard inputs.
  • Ability to keep and handle confidential documents.
  • Ability to work scheduledriven deadlines, including focused effort during major design deliverable milestones.
  • Ability to coordinate with geographically dispersed teams, including sistercompany personnel, in a fastpaced production environment.
  • Familiarity with cloud collaboration platform Forma Design Collaboration (formerly ACC).
  • Experience with Bluebeam.
  • Ability to read and understand new and existing construction documents.
  • Multi-task between projects and be able to work well under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


  • Potential to visit construction sites; able to wear PPE, climb ladders or stairs, and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to use a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Routine use of standard office equipment.
