The Opportunity:

The Academic Support Coordinator I assists in managing, coordinating, and providing routine support for undergraduate academic initiatives within the School of Data, Mathematics, and Statistical Sciences (SDMSS), including curriculum process execution, data collection for program assessment, and administrative logistics for external partnerships. The Academic Support Coordinator I is essential for managing, coordinating, and providing specialized support for all high-priority undergraduate academic initiatives within the SDMSS, including strategic curriculum management, program assessment, and external partnership coordination.

Responsibilities:


  • Assist with the undergraduate curriculum revision process, managing the submission pipeline under close supervision, tracking documents through university committees, and compiling required supporting materials for faculty directors.

  • Collect and aggregate routine quantitative and qualitative data (enrollment, course evaluations, retention rates) for continuous program assessment, accreditation, and annual reporting; assist with formatting summary reports.

  • Provide logistical support for undergraduate industrial and community partnerships. Assist the administrative liaison in drafting agendas, managing meeting setup for Industrial Focus Groups (IFG), and tracking action items as directed.

  • Coordinate the routine activities and administrative support for the assigned student success program, following established guidelines and procedures.

  • Organize and file assessment documents, curriculum history, partnership agreements, and student documentation (e.g., internship forms) in designated, secure repositories.

  • Serve as a liaison to internal campus departments (e.g., Testing, Registrar) and external entities to schedule and coordinate routine, well-defined program activities.

  • Provide routine administrative support for the Undergraduate Curriculum Directors, including managing calendar entries, coordinating non-complex travel arrangements, and processing program-related procurement.

  • Assist with basic office technology and the administrative technical aspects of assigned programs. Prepare monthly operational reports and manage related statistics and records as instructed.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

  • Experience in a higher education or academic support environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.

  • Experience using Workday or other student, curriculum, or program management systems.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational skills, including experience maintaining electronic records and documentation.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external partners.

  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.
