As a House Person on our team, you will complete a variety of tasks which will include:
- Clean floors, walls, surfaces, concrete, stairs, toilets, sinks, light fixtures, and other hotel areas using cloths, mops, sponges, brushes, and/or cleaning agents by extending arms over head, bending and stooping.
- Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents.
- Assisting housekeeping and other departments with delivering items and assisting guests, which may require lifting bedspreads weighing a maximum of 50 lbs.
- Dust all furniture, fixtures, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves thoroughly throughout all public areas, office, breakroom, laundry areas, etc.
- Push and pull vacuum throughout entire room and empty trash.
- Replenish supplies in public restrooms and employee break areas.
- Sign for keys, retrieve, push cart to cleaning area and restock heavy cart. Visually inspect work for cleanliness and appearance and signify completion for room.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
The position is ideal for someone with the following experience and qualities:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Hotel houseman/housekeeping and/or cleaning experience preferred.
- Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms over head to perform cleaning tasks, and work in confined spaces. Perform tasks requiring sustained repetitive motion and/or fine motor skills.
- Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.
- Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment.
- Ability to speak English and interact with guests and other employees in a courteous, empathetic, and discreet manner.
- Ability to assist with light maintenance and perform other duties as assigned.
