Shipping & Receiving Clerk What this job involves:

As a Shipping & Receiving Clerk at JLL, you'll serve as a vital link in our facilities operations, ensuring the smooth flow of goods, materials, and packages that keep our clients' buildings running efficiently. In this hands-on role, you'll manage all aspects of incoming and outgoing shipments, from verifying deliveries and maintaining accurate inventory records to coordinating with vendors and internal teams. What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips, ensuring accuracy and documenting any discrepancies

  • Prepare and process outgoing shipments, including packaging items securely, generating shipping labels, and coordinating pickup with carriers

  • Maintain organized storage areas and accurately track inventory levels using facility management systems and databases

  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently

  • Communicate with vendors, delivery personnel, and internal departments to coordinate deliveries and resolve shipping issues promptly

  • Process and distribute incoming mail, packages, and internal deliveries to appropriate departments or personnel

  • Maintain detailed shipping and receiving logs, documenting all transactions and updating records in real-time

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory requirements related to shipping and receiving operations

  • Support inventory audits and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency

Required qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or related logistics role

  • Proven ability to operate material handling equipment safely; valid forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain

  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping

  • Proficiency with inventory management systems, shipping software, and basic computer applications including Microsoft Office

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier items with assistance

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and external vendors

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience working in commercial real estate, corporate facilities, or property management settings

  • Familiarity with hazardous materials handling and documentation requirements

  • Knowledge of lean principles or continuous improvement methodologies

  • Experience with multiple carrier systems and freight management
