DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-
This position supports parole supervision staff by managing incoming and outgoing communications in a busy operations center. As a Parole Communications Operator, you will perform the following duties:
- Radio Monitoring: Log agent activity and track parolee transports while assisting supervision staff
- National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Entries: Enter and cancel wanted person information and respond to alerts from agencies
- System Monitoring: Interpret Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) and National Crime Information Center (NCIC) messages and relay important information to staff
- Information Retrieval: Gather criminal history and registry information for staff requests
- Status Verification: Review case details and issue detainers to ensure proper detention when needed
- Emergency Response: Answer the Board 800 number and direct urgent matters to supervision staff

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours will be discussed at the time of interview. This is a 24/7 operations unit and work schedule includes varying shifts and days off.
- This position is deemed essential in accordance with policy 04.01.01 Section 48 Early and Full-Day Closings. You will be considered an essential employee who reports to work during early dismissals and full-day closings.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
- You must obtain CLEAN and JNET certification within three months of employment and maintain these certifications for the duration of employment in this job.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
