As a Chemist 3, you will perform professional and supervisory work analyzing samples for the presence of environmentally significant analytes using specialized equipment and techniques and employing accepted methods in alignment with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Standard Methods, and DEP. You will conduct a full range of supervisory duties to include orienting new employees during initial probationary periods, identifying training objectives and reviewing progress, monitoring all completed assignments, and completing performance reviews.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week upon successful completion of the probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as a Chemist 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Two years of professional chemical analytical experience, and a bachelor's degree that includes 30 credits in chemistry or biochemistry; or
• One year of professional chemical analytical experience, and a graduate degree in chemistry.

Conditions of Employment:

• This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.

• You must possess and maintain a REAL ID or passport for this position. Proof of possession will be needed at the time of a conditional offer of employment.
