GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: To effectively plan, monitor, and control manufactured and purchased parts required to meet the Master Production Schedule. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provides training assistance to new employees.
- Assists Supervisor with monitoring work in assigned area, verifying hours, and time card accuracy.
- Assists with physical inventory activities, including cycle counts, measurements, and raw material counts.
- Participates in Process Improvement Teams and recommends continuous improvements.
- Responsible for observing and enforcing safety practices throughout the plant to maintain a safe working environment.
- Develops daily plans that support Production Control schedule.
- Monitor and evaluate material availability (purchased, work in process, out-sourced) status utilizing MRP.
- Communicates departmental issues and shortages that affect plans and schedules. Interfaces with Production Control to prevent schedule misses.
- Properly store material in designated locations following safe practices.
- Completes required paperwork and system transactions accordingly.
- Move material, work in process, and finished goods from location to location as instructed.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position has limited supervisory responsibilities.

Required Experience:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
- Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.
- Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.
- Ability to adhere to workplace rules.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years of relevant experience in a production / manufacturing environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly with others both verbally and in written form.
- Proficient in use of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- MRP/ERP Experience preferred.
- All aspects of Material Handler 2.
WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Shop floor environment.
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, keyboarding, using small/large tools).
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to tolerate constant noise (i.e.: machine motors).
- Ability to work safely in the presence of hazardous chemicals and hazardous conditions.
- Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
