Description

Salary Range: $69,400-$82,285 per year

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading the daytoday execution of manufacturing operations in a ReadytoEat (RTE) environment. This role provides direct supervision to unionrepresented employees and ensures that production activities are performed safely, compliantly, and efficiently while meeting business objectives. The position plays a critical role in protecting food safety, employee safety, and product quality by enforcing standard work, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations. Through accountable leadership and application of the company's guiding principles ACTION Accountability, Collaboration, TruthSeeking, Initiative, Ownership, and Nimble execution the Production Supervisor supports continuous improvement, workforce engagement, and operational stability across all shifts.


Operational & Production Leadership

  • Direct and coordinate daily production activities to meet schedule, volume, cost, and service requirements.
  • Assign work to hourly employees within established job classifications and Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) guidelines.
  • Monitor production performance including throughput, yield, downtime, labor utilization, and adherence to standard work.
  • Take timely corrective action within authority and escalate issues that impact safety, food safety, quality, cost, or service.


Food Safety & Quality Accountability

  • Enforce all RTE food safety programs including GMPs, sanitation, allergen controls, HACCP/HARPC plans, and environmental monitoring requirements.
  • Ensure accurate completion and verification of food safety and quality documentation.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to investigate deviations, determine root cause, and implement corrective actions.
  • Immediately stop production and escalate any condition that presents a risk to consumer safety or regulatory compliance.


Safety & Environmental Stewardship

  • Promote and enforce safe work practices, PPE requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Conduct safety meetings, observations, and incident investigations as required.
  • Support environmental compliance through proper waste handling, spill prevention, and resource conservation practices.


People Leadership - Union Environment

  • Lead and coach unionrepresented employees in a manner consistent with the CBA, company policies, and respectful workplace standards.
  • Provide clear performance expectations related to safety, quality, productivity, and attendance.
  • Document performance issues accurately and collaborate with Human Resources on investigations, discipline, or grievances.
  • Support training, qualification, and crosstraining to improve flexibility and engagement.


Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and employee engagement.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives such as standard work, waste reduction, 5S, and downtime reduction.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, Sanitation, Warehouse, and Scheduling to ensure effective operations.
  • Adjust priorities and staffing as conditions change while maintaining compliance and control.


Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required, Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in food or beverage manufacturing; RTE or highrisk food experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience leading or supervising employees in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of food safety systems including GMPs, sanitation, HACCP/HARPC, and allergen control programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to document factual and objective information.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply policies and the Collective Bargaining Agreement consistently and fairly.
  • Basic computer proficiency including production reporting and email.
  • Ability to work variable shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by operations.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
