DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerk Typist 1 with our team, you will complete routine clerical work, perform customer service tasks, and provide administrative support for the Johnstown City Housing Authority. Knowledge of general office procedures and customer services practices as well as skills in organization, attention to detail, and accuracy are needed in this role. We will also rely on your ability to work independently and as part of a team, multitask, meet deadlines, and handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. The kind of work you will do includes:

  • Routine Clerical Work: File, scan, and organize records in accordance with all requirements, make updates to maintain accurate paper and electronic records, and open and sort incoming mail and distribute it to the right departments
  • Customer Service: Answer phone calls and questions about public housing and the housing choice voucher program
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to management and housing staff and prepare correspondence, notices, and reports

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Possession of the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
