OVERVIEW

The Material Handlerisresponsible forloading, unloading, and moving materials within or nearplant,yard, or worksite. Additionally, the material handleris responsible foremptying super sacks and manually feeding sugar to production lines.

This position requiresthe flexibilityto work various shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and overtime, as needed. Weekend shifts may be mandated based on business needs.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Responsible for following work orders and/or verbal instructions toascertainmaterials or containers to be moved





  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, etc. using forklift





  • Moves finished and raw materials





  • Unloads and processes super sacks





  • Manually feeds sugar to production lines





  • Work effectively and ensure that food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality aremaintained.





  • Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out-of-specificationproduct, equipment,packagingor raw materials, to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate action.





  • Mayassistwith shipping and receiving as needed





  • All other duties as assigned



WORK EXPERIENCES



  • 1-2 years in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred





  • Prior forklift ortowmotor experience preferred.Abilityto be certified isrequired.





  • Proven ability to successfully meet customer and management deadlines.



EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS



  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)preferred but notrequired.





  • Equivalent experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)



  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds,frequentlylift and/or move up to 25poundsand occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depthperceptionand Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employeeis regularly required tostand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.





  • Must be able to understand verbal and written English





  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills



COMPENSATION



  • The expected pay range for this position is $19.00-$22.99/hour and will depend on the candidate's





  • qualifications and prior experience. Benefits include healthcare (medical, dental, vision, prescription





  • drugs) available the first of the month following30 daysof employment, 401(k) with match, life





  • insurance, AD&D, short-term disability, vacation,holidayand sick time.





  • Shift Differential: 2nd shift ($1.00); 3rd shift ($1.50)
