The Quality & Data Analyst RN is responsible for coordinating the care of quality improvement processes for the care of patients. Lead a multidisciplinary team as an advocate to observe and report care throughout internal and external systems, track that care and report outcomes and possible interventions. Responsible for serving as a patient advocate and working closely with the team of providers and operations management, while serving as a clinical expert utilizing data mined from the EHR via chart review or ACT and using evidence-based medicine and accountability to improve patient safety, outcome and quality.

Principal Responsibilities



  • Identify and coordinate quality improvement processes for the care of patients, serving as a liaison and advocate throughout the Clinic toward this goal.
  • Develop relationships with necessary providers, ancillary services at SC and hospital and staff.
  • Serve as a liaison to the hospital providers, all ancillary departments at SC and the hospital to lead in quality process changes and communicate this information to all members of the healthcare team.
  • Promote ongoing improvement in patient care by reducing clinical variation through review of best practice evidence based medicine, utilizing national benchmarked recommendations and developing improved clinical pathway to reflect best practices.
  • Organize and conduct ""Care Conferences"" with interdisciplinary teams or committees for review of patient outcome. Patient outcome/physician practices compared against quality data benchmarks set by Expert Society and evidenced based medicine.
  • Partner with patients, family, and interdisciplinary team to meet the needs of the patient and provide resources.
  • Assist management in developing marketing strategies, material development, and patient education and resource information in conjunction with the Marketing Department.
  • Initiate and perform ongoing chart review of clinical outcomes related to the continuum of recommended patient care.
  • Support and participate in health promotion/educational community involvement and research.
  • Serve as resource for community educational events such as health fairs, screenings, symposiums and lectures as well as clinical staff education.
  • Work with Business and Clinical Intelligence, ACT data platform, chart review to obtain data.
  • Analyze data, create and present reports with intent to show practice trends, outcome, and gaps for improvement.
  • Research and communicate updated best practices and Society recommendations.
  • Assist the department in obtaining and maintaining specialty certifications, recognitions, and accreditations.
  • May work with the Quality Management department as needed.
  • Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.
  • Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy.
  • Provide excellent customer service and adhere to SC Way customer service philosophy.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.


Education/Experience



  • BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting required.
  • Healthcare management or leadership experience preferred.


Licenses/Certificates



  • RN license in good standing in the State of Illinois.
  • CPR certification per American Heart Association Guidelines required within 30 days of hire.

  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to travel to multiple Clinic locations.
  • Ability to serve as a strong patient advocate, demonstrating the ability to independently overcome barriers in creative and innovative ways.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills with an understanding of patient centered care.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure while providing a positive image.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently in all levels of the organization.
  • Must have excellent skills with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with EHR clinical products and experience with the implementation of clinical software.
  • A strong background in business and integrated healthcare delivery.

  • This job operates in a professional office environment.
  • Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
