Engineer (Contract - Automotive CAD Focus)

Location: Raymond, OH

Pay Rate: $42.50 - $47.13/hr

Position Type: Temporary Contract

We are seeking an experienced Engineer to support advanced automotive development projects. This role focuses on CAD design, chassis component engineering, and collaboration with cross-functional teams and suppliers to deliver high-quality, manufacturable designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive chassis components including wheels, brakes, fuel systems, and exhaust systems
• Create and modify complex CAD models using CATIA V5/V6 (V6 preferred)
• Perform solid and surface modeling, ensuring robust, revision-resistant designs
• Develop 2D/3D annotated engineering drawings with GD&T understanding
• Interpret and apply CAE results (stiffness, natural frequency, etc.)
• Ensure designs meet Design for Manufacturability (DFM) requirements
• Work with suppliers to evaluate technical proposals and ensure proper part/service execution
• Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve design issues
• Manage multiple projects and support development schedules
• Prepare technical reports and communicate results in various engineering formats
• Make technical decisions with moderate supervision

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering required
• 3-6 years of automotive chassis design experience preferred (L2-level capability)
• Strong proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 and engineering drawing standards
• Experience with DFM and mechanical system design required
• Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or in teams
• Valid driver's license required
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced engineering environment
