Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

We provide technical assistance to businesses, governments, anchor institutions, and other organizations to create good jobs and new wealth in economically distressed communities. We produce applied research and develop innovative policies that promote equitable development. We host unique, cross-sector convenings and workshops to bring together diverse perspectives. NCGrowth is an affiliated center of the UNC Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise.
Position Summary
The Junior Analyst will support NCGrowth's research and project coordination efforts during an 8-week summer placement. Responsibilities include data collection, analysis, and assisting with reports, presentations, and administrative tasks. This role provides hands-on experience in economic development and community-focused initiatives, ideal for undergraduate students interested in research, strategy, or public service.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Management Preferences
Currently enrolled undergraduate student (freshman, sophomore, or junior) in any major
Basic familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar tools (or willingness to learn)
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
