Who we are and what we do:

The Tennessee Department of Correction operates and oversees 14 adult prisons across the state, housing some 21,000 offenders. In the community, TDOC supervises 79,000 offenders on probation, parole, or community corrections. The department operates 44 probation/parole offices in 13 districts across the state.

Job Overview:

Shift Supervisors manage daily CSIC operations during assigned shifts, ensuring timely monitoring, analysis, and response to alerts and incidents. They provide leadership to operators and maintain operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees shift operations, including monitoring alerts, incident tracking, and intelligence dissemination.
  2. Manages daily CSIC operations during assigned shifts, ensuring timely monitoring, analysis, and response to alerts and incidents.
  3. Provides leadership to operators (Internal Affairs Investigator) and maintains operational readiness.
  4. Assigns tasks and ensures proper staffing levels for operators.
  5. Serves as the primary point of contact for incident escalation and coordination with institutional leadership.
  6. Maintains accurate shift logs and generates reports for CSIC Director.
  7. Trains and mentors operators (Internal Affairs Investigator) on all protocols, technology systems, TDOC policies, state regulations, and security protocols, in compliance with all FAA 107 sUAS licensure requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a police officer, correction officer, or probation/parole officer.
  2. Experience performing or instructing in criminal investigation work in a government setting, law enforcement, professional criminal law, and/or similar related field may substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.
  3. Five (5) years of progressive supervisory experience required.
  4. Successful completion of a state or federal law enforcement academy.
  5. Experience conducting investigations in a correction capacity.
