Regional Director

LOCATION: Grand Rapids, Michigan

Annual Compensation: $140,000.00 - $160,000.000

Bonus eligible

Under the CEO's direction, the Regional Director leads field and communications staff to support the AMR mission and "total patient care" model, fosters a positive, teambased culture, maintains strong relationships with hospitals and EMS partners, and ensures compliance with local EMS agency contracts. The role also leads sales and business development efforts to retain and grow emergent and nonemergent medical transportation services through direct sales and closing strategies with hospitals, integrated delivery networks, longterm care organizations, commercial and government health plans, government entities, and other medical transportation customers.

Responsibilities:

Operations & Leadership

  • Execute quality assurance activities and support the operational mission across all AMR departments.
  • Serve as liaison with EMS offices, hospitals, public safety agencies, allied healthcare organizations, and, when needed, the news media.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets; ensure compliance with established goals.
  • Lead and coordinate investigations involving incidents, personnel matters, and complaints to timely resolution.
  • Keep the CEO of Operations informed of significant operational, personnel, and interagency matters.
  • Participate in strategic planning with senior leadership and promote field-level innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships and communication at all organizational levels.
  • Ensure compliance with information systems security policies, training, and incident reporting requirements.

Business Development

  • Drive retention and growth of current accounts and develop new business within the assigned territory.
  • Prospect for new clients through multiple channels and maintain an active sales funnel.
  • Assist with pricing, business development strategies, and competitive market analysis.
  • Partner with Account Executives and Operations to maximize contract retention and growth.
  • Track leads, prepare required reports, and maintain all CRM activity in Salesforce (SFDC).
  • Plan and conduct prospect visits, sales presentations, and customer correspondence.
  • Coordinate onboarding and implementation of new accounts with regional operations leadership.
  • Support hiring, training, and day-to-day management of Account Executives, as applicable.
  • Ensure timely documentation of customer interactions and competitor intelligence in Salesforce.

People & Compliance

  • Mentor team members; conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Champion affirmative action initiatives and ensure compliance with company and departmental policies.

Qualifications:
Education & Industry Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, related field, or equivalent experience required; advanced degree preferred (e.g., Business, Management, Human Relations, EMS, Administration).
  • Prehospital care and transportation coursework preferred; minimum of three years EMS operations management and three years prehospital care experience.
  • Demonstrated administrative, management, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop business plans.
  • Knowledge of federal reimbursement for ambulance services, including Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and advanced math skills; ability to interpret technical, financial, and legal documents.
  • Proficient in word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to manage large teams effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Availability 24/7 for on-call responsibilities (company-provided devices).
  • Must maintain and operate a vehicle to perform essential job functions.
