DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will inspect childcare facilities and assess their compliance with regulations to ensure the health and safety of children in regulated childcare settings. Your work will involve conducting complaint investigations when allegations of regulatory noncompliance are alleged by travelling to facilities throughout the region. You will also investigate allegations of illegally operating facilities. Some of your duties will include performing follow-up activities, testifying at hearings, and providing technical assistance regarding state laws and regulations. Additionally, you will work with other departmental offices and other agencies by attending meetings and commenting on drafts for regulations, policy, procedures, protocols, and program initiatives. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- You must be willing to travel frequently, including overnight. Travel expenses will be paid.
- You will have the ability to request home headquartering after six months of employment.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of professional experience providing direct services to children and youth and a bachelor's degree that includes 24 semester hours of college level courses in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, psychology, or human development; or
- An equivalent combination of professional experience and training, which includes one year of professional experience providing direct services to children and youth and 24 semester hours of college level courses in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, psychology, or human development.

- You must reside in or be willing to relocate to one of the following counties within the Western Region within the first 6 months of employment: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Bedford, Blair, Butler, Cambria, Cameron, Clarion, Clearfield, Crawford, Elk, Erie, Fayette Forest, Franklin, Fulton, Greene, Huntingdon, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer, Potter, Somerset, Venango, Warren, Washington, or Westmoreland.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
