Job Overview

Facilitates implementation of behavior plans developed by licensed psychiatric professionals for inpatient and day treatment patients. Coordinates with unit leadership to recommend staff assignments that support safety and effective interventions. Models and supports Behavior Specialists and provides guidance to staff, caregivers, and providers on general and individualized behavioral strategies. Collaborates with the treatment team and assists with data collection, analysis, treatment planning, supervision of Behavior Specialist roles, and research activities. May encounter volatile situations with risk of bodily harm.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing individual treatment plans, including target behaviors, goals, and data collection systems.
  • Coordinate patient assignments in collaboration with unit leadership.
  • Participate in program development committees as assigned by the unit manager.
  • Model positive, professional behavior for frontline staff working with patients.
  • Help create behavior intervention programs to encourage pro-social behaviors and reduce problem behaviors.
  • Collaborate with clinical team members to discuss intervention strategies and attend clinical rounding and meetings.
  • Facilitate interactions and attend meetings with families, caregivers, schools, and multifamily groups as needed.
  • Coach staff on implementing behavior treatment plans and managing challenging behaviors.
  • Ensure consistent treatment fidelity across all staff and units.
  • Complete functional behavior assessments as needed, including documentation of results and observations.
  • Create and deliver staff training and preceptor development sessions.
  • Ensure daily therapeutic groups are scheduled, planned, and facilitated throughout the milieu.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degrees
    • Bachelor's
  • Area of Study
    • Psychology, Social Work or Education
  • Experience
    • Minimum Experience Required: Four (4) years of pediatric psych/behavioral specialty in a therapeutic setting. No professional level experience for master's degree

  • Licenses & Certifications
    • Basic Life Support
  • Additional Requirements

    • BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire.

Schedule/ Shift

  • 40hrs FT
  • 4 - 10's with a weekend day

Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

Hourly Range: $28.61 to $42.92
