The Billing Specialist handles daily monitoring, correction, and invoicing along with generating End of Month reports. This position manages the billing functions, including charge capture, claims processing, payment posting, and collections for the Occupational Health department, staying updated on evolving rules and regulations for this dynamic specialty service line. Essential Job Function Ensures accurate and timely entry of charges, maintaining accuracy and completeness in order to facilitate seamless revenue generation for the organization. Runs, prints, proofs, and mails bills bi-weekly, assuring billing accuracy, clarity, and timeliness to support efficient financial operations within the healthcare organization. Handles the printing, mailing, posting of charges, and processes payment requests from attorney offices for medical records, guaranteeing proper documentation and payment for legal purposes in the medical context. Provides patients with statements for claims filing to support insurance reimbursement, ensuring patients have the necessary information to seek appropriate financial coverage for medical services. Runs End of Month (EOM) reports for the accountant in a timely manner, ensuring accurate financial reporting and enabling informed decision-making for financial management. Processes incoming receivables and outbound collection efforts to effectively manage and collect outstanding payments from patients. Performs other duties as assigned. Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent Experience Required: 5 Years Licensure/Certification/Listing Preferred: Certified Professional Coder
