We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Specialist, Asset Managers & Insurance Lending to join our Investment Management & Insurance Institutional Lending team. This role is located in New York, NY. In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways: Deal Execution Support
- Support end-to-end transaction lifecycle: intake, diligence, underwriting, documentation, closing, and post-close tasks.
- Prepare credit analyses, financial models, sensitivity analyses, and risk ratings aligned to internal frameworks.
- Coordinate timelines and deliverables across clients, external counsel, and internal stakeholders.
Underwriting & Documentation
- Draft/refine credit approval materials: obligor/structure overview, repayment sources, collateral analysis, covenants, risks/mitigants.
- Review and track negotiation points across loan/credit documentation (e.g., credit agreements, security agreements, guarantees, amendments).
- Maintain documentation trackers and closing checklists ensuring conditions precedent and compliance items are fulfilled.
Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Management
- Monitor covenant compliance, borrowing base/availability, performance triggers, watch-list indicators, and exposure reporting.
- Prepare periodic portfolio reviews and client health checks (trends, concentrations, early warning signals).
- Support exceptions, waivers, amendments, and renewals, including remediation plans and follow-ups.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with relationship managers, risk, legal, operations, and product partners to deliver smooth execution and client satisfaction.
- Prepare client-ready materials (pitch decks, portfolio updates, market snapshots) and support meetings and data requests.
- Maintain accurate pipeline and activity logs in required systems.
Research & Market Insights
- Compile industry and issuer research to inform structures and risk assessments across asset managers, mutual funds, and insurers.
- Summarize macro and sector trends, rating agency commentary, and regulatory developments relevant to the portfolio.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4-7 years in institutional lending, credit underwriting, commercial banking, or risk analysis supporting complex credit facilities.
- Experience reviewing, analyzing, and tracking negotiation of credit/loan documentation.
- Strong financial modeling skills (3statement analysis, leverage/liquidity assessment, covenant modeling, sensitivity analysis).
- Working knowledge of credit risk frameworks, rating methodologies, collateral structures, and covenant packages.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present complex information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- High attention to detail; ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams under deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to asset managers, regulated mutual funds, insurance counterparties, and related legal/regulatory considerations.
- Experience with syndicated facilities, subscription/capital call lines, asset-backed structures, and/or secured lending.
- Familiarity with credit portfolio monitoring tools, risk/limit frameworks, and early-warning indicators.
- Credit training program completion

The base salary for this position is expected to be between $58,000 and $130,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
