Overview

The Executive Director of Enterprise Business Systems & Operations provides strategic leadership, vision, and oversight for the organization's enterprise business systems, with a primary focus on Workday (HCM, Finance, Payroll & Supply Chain) and Symplr (workforce management). This role requires high collaboration with business-functional leaders and teams and the ERP Program Director. Ensures these platforms are optimized for success, supporting operational excellence, regulatory compliance, innovation and organizational growth.

  • Hybrid: onsite meetings and executive presence as needed

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Administrative or
  • Bachelor's Degree: Information Systems or
  • Bachelor's Degree: Program Management or
  • Bachelor's Degree: Related Field

Work Experience:

  • Leadership - 5 years
  • Large-scale system implementations, governance, and optimization
  • Strategic Planning
  • Workday (Preferred)

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of HR, Finance, Payroll and healthcare compliance processes.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and change management skills.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the enterprise applications roadmap
  • Align Workday and Symplr capabilities with business objectives.
  • Leverage application AI capabilities that drive business automation and value.

System Governance:

  • Establish governance frameworks for configuration, best practices for application management, security, and compliance, change management, release cycle management, data integrity and project coordination across business platforms.

Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing applications team, fostering collaboration with HR, Finance, Payroll, Supply Chain, IT, and Clinical Operations.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management:

  • Serve as the primary liaison with Workday and Symplr vendors, negotiating contracts, managing escalations, and ensuring service-level compliance.

Optimization & Innovation:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging automation, analytics, and integration to enhance user experience and efficiency.

Compliance & Security:

  • Ensure systems meet all applicable regulatory, privacy, and security requirements, including HIPAA and SOX.

Project Oversight:

  • Provide executive oversight and leadership on major system upgrades and projects, module implementations, and cross-platform integrations.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $75.69per hour - $130.19per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
