The Department of Occupational Therapy at Tufts University is seeking qualified part-time lecturer candidates to develop and teach an innovative online course for the post-professional OTD program, focused on educational theory and methodology tailored for allied health professionals. This position includes online course development in collaboration with program director and instructional designer, with course design beginning September 1, 2026. Course delivery is balanced synchronous/asynchronous, with synchronous course meetings on Tuesday evenings (EST) starting in January 2027 and continuing in every following spring semester.. Job responsibilities include design and development of a comprehensive online course curriculum covering educational theory, instructional design, and teaching methodologies specific to allied health education; mentoring is available to this instructor. The successful applicant will also create engaging learning materials, assignments, and assessments suitable for asynchronous and/or synchronous online delivery and work collaboratively with a dedicated instructional designer to organize content into the LMS. The PPOTD program supports working occupational therapy professionals across a wide scope of practice, with individual leadership projects in their areas of expertise. This position includes facilitation of student learning through lectures, discussions, and practical application, providing timely feedback to graduate students, and assessing student performance and maintaining academic records. This applicant with meet with Program Director regularly. The candidate should possess a Doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, OTD, or related terminal degree), along with demonstrated expertise in educational theory, instructional design, and/or curriculum development for allied health education. Experience teaching at the graduate level is expected, preferably in online formats. The candidate will possess a strong understanding of adult learning principles and evidence-based teaching practices, along with proficiency with learning management systems and online teaching technologies. A professional development certificate or coursework in online teaching and learning is preferred.
