Summary

Reports to the Head Volleyball Coach and Director of Athletics. Assist the Head Volleyball Coach with various aspects of the varsity volleyball program; i.e., coaching, recruiting, scheduling, camps/clinics, and game/practice management and fundraising. The assistant volleyball coach will adhere toRMACrules, regulations, andNCAADivision II bylaws. In addition, the assistant volleyball coach will represent MSUDenver in a positive manner and continue to uphold the program's philosophies and the athletic department's core values.

Duties/Responsibilities:

40% - Coaching - Assist head coach in coaching team

25% - Recruiting

20% - Supervision of student-athletes

15% -Game/Practice preparation/management

Specific Responsibilities:

Assist the Head Coach in the overall management and operation of the volleyball program.

* Serve as primary point of contact for the volleyball program in the absence of the Head Coach.

* Recruiting coordinator (point of contact for all initial communication and evaluation, manage the recruiting database, scheduling and paperwork for visits)

* Travel coordinator (paperwork for all travel, hotel and flight reservations, meals on the road)

* Video coordinator (scouting, training, match, exchange),

* Statistics coordinator (collect and distribute statistics to coaching staff and athletes as necessary)

* Academic coach (meet regularly with student athletes and track their academic progress and advise)

* Assistant camp director (lead coach, gym set up)

* Secure line judges for home matches

* Coordinate pre-match practice times at home and on the road

* Oversee match promotions and special events (including senior night/parent night gifts).

* Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree and previous competitive and/or coaching experience in the specifiedsport

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's Degree

* College coaching experience

* Knowledge of NCAA Rules

* Experience in setter training and offensive systems.

* Must possess computer literacy

Salary for Announcement

Under Colorado law, MSU Denver is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.

The anticipated hiring range is $41,626 - $55,351.

This position is paid monthly and is eligible for MSU Denver benefits.
