Job Description




As a Security Officer Visitor Registration Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. This is a driving post. You will provide outstanding customer service and communication while supporting daily operations with a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and committed to acting with integrity and putting people first.

What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by following site-specific access control procedures, screening entry points, and supporting security-related protocols at a government location.
  • Monitor entrances and exits, verify identification and credentials, maintain visitor logs, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency personnel as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing conditions, reporting unusual activity, and documenting security-related concerns.
  • Support daily operations by enforcing post orders, monitoring movement through controlled access points, and preparing clear, accurate reports of incidents and/or policy violations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required in accordance with COLA DPSS/DHS requirements.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
