We also produce freshly prepared foods for retail partners in the food service, grocery, and specialty food industries.

Summary

The Flight Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the food, beverages, and equipment meet customer requirements. All activities must be accomplished according to customer guidelines while adhering to safety regulations. The Flight Coordinator interacts with the airline representatives at the aircraft and must provide excellent customer service.

Job Responsibilities
  • Load the required number of meals based on menu specifications, final catering figures and ensure temperature is maintained with proper dry icing of meals prior to removal from refrigeration.
  • Check in with dispatch at the beginning of the shift for aircraft changes and account information.
  • Report to Equipment/beverage packing areas to check equipment and beverage flight setup with airline specifications, including dry icing of beverages and sign off on the checklist.
  • Communicates any shortages or substitutions with the FFG shift manager on duty.
  • Required to take an FFG radio for communications during flight signoffs.
  • Communicates with and maintains excellent customer relations with Airline and flight crews, informing them of shortages and substitutions.
  • Issues crew a copy of menu handouts explanation (breakdown) of meals boarding bill.
  • Communicates and helps ensure aircraft changes and schedules are adjusted.
  • Ensure airline specifications are adhered to, including menus, a/c boarding, ramp safety, etc.
  • Ensure flight equipment and food are set up and delivered correctly to meet airline requirements.
  • Check trucks for completeness before kitchen departure at the FFG facility.
  • Ensures on-time departures.
  • Responsible for informing the Account manager or Operations Management of inbound shortages and irregularities
  • Follow HACCP guidelines taking temperatures in the kitchen before the flight leaves the facility and once loaded on the A/C. Must follow the Regulated use of a laboratory coat during the in-house setup of flight.
  • Work safely to prevent accidents to self and coworkers and report all unsafe incidents.
  • Will be required to drive catering truck to aircraft/assist catering if needed.
  • Complete the FFG Coordinator reports, bank usage, temperature logs, and Security times, report all discrepancies of the flight handled, and inform the Account Manager, Transportation Manager, Op, and Operations Managers with a copy of the report.

Job Qualifications
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record
  • Ability to pass all required airport and Customs security clearance
  • The position requires an excellent working knowledge of employee and food safety practices, policies, and procedures in accordance with Federal and State regulations
  • Must be knowledgeable in the hazard analysis and critical control point [HACCP] system of food protection
  • Must be able to complete a 10-year background check
  • Must be familiar with Customs regulations relative to bonded material and regulated waste handling, be knowledgeable, and have U.S. Government and local regulations governing safe food handling and prevention of foodborne illness
  • Works assigned schedule and could include weekends and holidays
  • Works overtime when required
  • Arrives to work on-time
  • Completes paperwork and related administrative duties.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment, and supplies up to fifty (50) pounds frequently during shift
  • Regularly stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours
  • Must be knowledgeable and stay current with Ramp Safety policies and procedures

  • The majority of duties are performed outside in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull product, equipment, and supplies up to fifty pounds, must be able to work at heights up to 20-25 feet
  • Regularly stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to stand in one place for hours at a time, handle the cold, and work shifts.
