Senior OSINT Analyst

Orbis Operations
United States, Virginia, McLean
6849 Old Dominion Drive (Show on map)
Apr 15, 2026

Orbis Operations is looking for a Senior Open-Source Analyst to drive intelligence collection, analysis, and training across social media and publicly available information. This isn't a seat-filler on an analyst bench. You'll be the person who finds what others miss, builds the collection approach from scratch when needed, and produces intelligent products that hold up under scrutiny.

You'll operate at the intersection of social media exploitation, analytic production, and training development. You will track narratives, map networks, and monitor platforms in real time - then turn what you find into finished products with clear sourcing, stated confidence, and actionable conclusions. You will be expected to run independently, manage your own priorities, and deliver without being chased.

The right person for this role is equal parts collector and communicator. You can pivot between deep-dive research using commercially available tools and data and standing in front of a room teaching others how to do the same. You're rigorous about tradecraft, honest about what the data does and doesn't support, and more interested in getting the answer right than getting it first.

What You'll Do

Collect across social media and PAI - Conduct collection and analysis across social media platforms, messaging applications, forums, and other publicly available information sources. Own the full collection cycle from requirements through dissemination.

Track narratives and emerging threats - Monitor social media activity in real time, including narratives, influence operations, network behavior, and threat indicators across multiple platforms and languages.

Produce finished intelligence - Write assessments, threat briefings, and network analyses with transparent sourcing, stated confidence levels, and actionable conclusions. Your products should be held up under review without caveat chasing.

Build collection plans - Translate intelligence questions into observable indicators and prioritized source lists. Define what to look for, where, and what would confirm or disconfirm the hypothesis.

Map networks and influence - Identify, analyze, and visualize online networks, key influencers, and communities of interest using link analysis and social network analysis techniques. Surface relationships that aren't obvious from single-platform views.

Develop and deliver training - Design and teach OSINT curricula for analysts at varying skill levels, covering advanced search techniques, social media exploitation, platform-specific tradecraft, and operational security. You'll build the courseware and stand in front of the room.

Mentor junior analysts - Coach analysts on tradecraft, source evaluation, and production standards. Review their work, sharpen their reasoning, and raise the floor across the team.

Stay ahead of the platforms - Track changes to APIs, content moderation policies, access restrictions, and emerging tools across the social media landscape. Translate what's changing into updated tradecraft guidance and training materials before the team falls behind.

What We're Looking For

  • Demonstrated expertise in social media research and analysis across major platforms
  • Proficiency in OSINT collection tools and platforms

  • Understanding of legal and ethical frameworks governing open-source collection, including privacy regulations and platform terms of service

Who You Are

Beyond the resume, we're looking for someone who brings:

  • Backbone - You ask hard questions and hold people accountable, including people senior to you, with professionalism.
  • Rigor - Your instinct is to turn ambiguity into actionable plans. Unclear requirements energize you, not paralyze you.
  • Comfort with discomfort - You thrive in high-pressure, fast-moving, cross-cultural environments.
  • Mission focuses -- on making the team and the mission succeed, not on personal visibility.
  • Follow-through - You're relentless about closing loops. If something was committed, you track it until it's done.

What We Offer

  • Dynamic, mission-driven team with access to a wide range of global clients.
  • Opportunity to travel internationally, including regular engagement in the Indo-Pacific region.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
  • Flexible work environment.
  • A leadership team that will back you publicly and empower you to drive results.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Routine video conference and/or in-person meetings.
  • Ability to travel internationally for extended periods, including long-haul flights.
