Framatome's Installed Base Engineering organization is seeking an Engineering Supervisor for the Electrical Engineering / I&C Team for our office in Lynchburg, VA.

The Supervisor provides daily front-line supervision, leadership, and advanced technical support for a team of engineers. Scope of work typically includes planning and scheduling work, supervising workflow, and adherence to budget. Supervises the execution of engineering processes, reviews progress, and updates management, as needed. The Supervisor will also be responsible for conducting staff performance appraisals.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Builds an effective and collaborative team spirit.
- Develops team through training, mentoring, feedback, and work assignments.
- Ensures effective performance of engineering assignments.
- Plans and directs the timely execution of engineering activities, as assigned.
- Ensures projects, initiatives, and processes comply with established policies, objectives, and customer standards.
- Ensures adherence to government, organization, and customer engineering standards and procedures. Maintains a healthy technical conscience within team.
- Monitors goals, objectives, and standards of performance for assigned team members.
- Works interactively with customers and clients to develop strong relationships.
- Researches and assesses best practices, proposing methods, and improvements. Supports Operational Excellence initiatives.
- Works on special projects, as directed.
- Works with the Unit Manager and Sales Team to develop scope and provide inputs to proposals.
- Collaborates with all levels of leadership within the Engineering organization to function as one team.
- Performs other related duties and tasks, as required.



What You'll Do Day-To-Day

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Dependent on the position, degrees in Physics, Engineering Technology and Engineering Science may also be accepted.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
  • Good communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Advanced problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Displays leadership characteristics.
  • Exhibits questioning attitude and practices self-checking.
  • Advanced proficiency with specialized software tools and programming languages as required by the role.
  • Supervision or Leadership experience.
  • Project Engineering or Project Management experience.
  • Experience in Electrical or I&C Engineering nuclear plant modifications or design change process, including experience with nuclear license amendment request and 10 CFR 50.59 evaluation. process.
  • Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL, and NEMA standards.


Total Rewards Package

  • Salary: $99,000 - $134,000, and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
