Position: Principal Engineer - Electrical

Worksite: 101 E Huntington Dr., Monrovia, CA 91016

Offered Wage: $162,011 to $209,227 per year

Responsibilities:

Responsible for project development from preliminary engineering to detail design, construction, and final safe turnover demonstrating excellent technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality work. Manage electrical engineering services that meet Worley, its customers, and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget. Perform power system studies including load flow, short circuit, motor starting, and arc flash using advanced power system program software such as ETAP, CYME, PSCAD and SKM. Design and develop single line diagrams, schematics, and wirings for all electrical and process equipment. Develop electrical equipment data sheets and requisitions, perform vendor evaluation, technical clarifications, bid analyses, and conduct vendor document review and approval for manufacture. Develop power and control plans, cable tray layouts, grounding plans, hazardous area classification assessment and plans. Manage electrical team throughout all execution phases of the project. Mentor less experienced engineers and designers and develop their technical skills for current as well as future projects. Perform site visits to assess existing facility conditions and gather information to implement in new design. Prepare electrical permit/plan check packages for County/City permitting. Attend weekly technical clarification and coordination meetings with clients, vendors, and other project teams. Support construction and provide field engineering support through the construction, commissioning, and startup of project.

Minimum

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 15 years (180 months) of progressive experience in electrical engineering in the oil and gas industry, including experience working in multi-disciplinary projects or teams, experience with energy, renewables, oil, gas, and/or chemical plants electrical and power system design, construction, and commissioning, experience applying knowledge of the fundamental requirement of electrical engineering and of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory specifications, experience using relevant software such as MS Office Suite and electrical engineering specific analytical software such as ETAP and SPEL, PSCAD and SKM.

Special Requirement: Professional Engineer license required.
