JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:

The Capital Markets Analyst plays a vital role in supporting the identification, structuring, pricing, marketing, origination, execution, closing, and ongoing servicing of Capital Markets opportunities for the Bank's clients. By conducting detailed financial analysis, due diligence, and market research, the Analyst helps drive successful execution of syndication transactions and derivative trades. The Analyst works closely with Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, Credit Risk professionals, and Capital Markets specialists to deliver comprehensive solutions for Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and Commercial Real Estate (CRE) clients, including interest rate hedging strategies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis, develop financial models, and perform comprehensive company and industry research.
  • Assist with accounting, business, and legal due diligence in collaboration with deal teams.
  • Prepare internal credit and screening memos alongside Portfolio Management.
  • Develop and deliver marketing presentations, term sheets, and derivative pricing quotes.
  • Build and analyze derivative pricing models to support interest rate hedging and risk management.
  • Create confidential information memoranda and lender presentations for syndication transactions.
  • Collaborate with participant lenders to facilitate due diligence and support transaction marketing.
  • Stay informed on market trends, including interest rate changes, loan syndications, and debt capital market developments.
  • Contribute to the preparation of regular market update slides used in client presentations.
  • Provide data and insights to internal teams, including Relationship Management, Portfolio Management, Credit Risk Management, and Senior Management, on current and prospective Capital Markets clients.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in commercial banking, capital markets, institutional lending, or financial advisory preferred.
  • Strong financial analysis, financial modeling, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • A self-starter attitude with a strong work ethic and a desire to excel in a fast-paced team environment.

ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 20 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
