POSITION SUMMARY The Mortgage Processing Manager oversees daily operations and the development of the mortgage processing and closing teams, ensuring quality service to both team members and Credit Union members. This role provides leadership aligned with Verve's values and supports processing and closing activities. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee daily activities and schedules of designated Mortgage operations teams.
- Responsible for making day-to-day decisions and exceptions, with assistance from the leader of Loan Operations when needed.
- Primary system administrator for the mortgage loan origination system (Mortgage Cadence MCP)
- Work closely with the mortgage sales, underwriting, and the Learning and Development teams to manage training information and documentation for the mortgage team.
- Develop and coach the mortgage processing team to identify areas for growth.
- Assist when needed, with training of new team members in the mortgage processing team.
- Prepare monthly reports and manage new user set ups for systems used by the mortgage operations team.
- Ensure compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies, practice, and procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one's duties.
- Identify and offer new opportunities to help team members meet member needs.
- Assist the team with tasks as time allows.
- Responsible for ensuring training procedures and guides are updated and reviewed regularly.
- Assist with post-closing quality control, file audits, post-closing WHEDA audits and other outstanding documents.
- Evaluate, develop, motivate, and train team members in the mortgage processing team.
- Demonstrate the Credit Union's philosophy in all interactions and adhere to the Credit Union's values with members, prospective members, and team members.
- Uphold the Credit Union's policies and procedures and champion organizational culture both internally and externally.
- All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate degree preferred; combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Minimum 3 years' financial experience.
- Minimum 3 years' mortgage lending or processing experience.
- Previous experience being an administrator of a mortgage loan origination system preferred.
- Previous leadership experience preferred.
KEY COMPETENCIES
- Strong working knowledge of mortgage processing, closing, post-closing, and quality control activities, including portfolio, secondary market, and WHEDA loans.
- Demonstrate the ability to lead, coach, train, and develop mortgage processing and closing team members to meet performance and service expectations.
- Ability to make sound day-to-day operational decisions and approve exceptions within established policies, procedures, and risk parameters.
- Possess a working knowledge of all applicable banking laws, rules, regulations, and internal policies related to mortgage processing and servicing.
- Ability to administer and support mortgage loan origination systems and related tools, including managing user access, reporting, documentation, and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to partner effectively with mortgage sales, underwriting, learning and development, and operations leadership.
- Demonstrate commitment to the Credit Union's values, culture, and service philosophy while supporting both member and team member needs.

- Work Environment: Business office, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand at a desk the majority of the day; talk or hear; stand or walk occasionally. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is typically utilizing a computer, keyboard, and phone. May occasionally reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and crouch.
